A Legacy Of Values

My values come from my father, Rotarian Professor Susil Kumar Patnaik, a respected academician and former Principal of Dhenkanal College. He devoted his life to education and believed deeply in knowledge as a force for social change. He was the founding president of the Utkal Congress Party and a close associate and devoted follower of Sri Biju Patnaik. From 1971 onwards, he played an active role in Odisha’s social and political transformation. He served as the founder president of all the trade unions in undivided Dhenkanal, and he was also a founder member of all the existing industrial and business associations of undivided Dhenkanal during his lifetime. Through these roles, he consistently stood with workers, institutions, and people in need.

My mother was a home-maker; she was a woman of discipline and integrity. She taught me all about empathy, kindness, and compassion as the cornerstones of a man’s character. She was the backbone of our family. Growing up under my parents’ guidance, I learned that service, empathy, and integrity are not choices but responsibilities. Their life continues to inspire my efforts to carry forward their unfulfilled dreams and Biju Babu’s vision for a progressive and self-reliant Odisha.

I feel very lucky to be married to Rotarian Smt. Kalyani Patnaik. She is a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) and has also been actively involved with the Rotary Fellowship in Bhubaneswar. She has assisted me in organising several health camps and other social service activities, utilising her skills and supportive spirit. She has always maintained a perfect balance between family and Rotary activities. She is spearheading all our business endeavors. She can resolve issues in no time. She has been a steady support to me in every stage of life. Her values, discipline, and calm nature inspire me every day. I feel proud to walk this journey with her and am grateful for the strength and joy she brings to my life.of the Governor of the Rotary International District

ମୂଲ୍ୟବୋଧ 

ମୋର ମୂଲ୍ୟବୋଧ ମୋ ପିତା ରୋଟାରିଆନ୍ ପ୍ରଫେସର ସୁସିଲ କୁମାର ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକଙ୍କ ଠାରୁ ଆସିଛି, ଯିଏ ଜଣେ ସମ୍ମାନିତ ଶିକ୍ଷାବିତ୍ ଏବଂ ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳ କଲେଜର ପୂର୍ବତନ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ। ସେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ପ୍ରତି ତାଙ୍କର ଜୀବନ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ସାମାଜିକ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ପାଇଁ ଜ୍ଞାନକୁ ଏକ ଶକ୍ତି ଭାବରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଥିଲେ।

ସେ ଉତ୍କଳ କଂଗ୍ରେସ ଦଳର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠାତା ସଭାପତି ଏବଂ ଶ୍ରୀ ବିଜୁ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକଙ୍କ ଜଣେ ଘନିଷ୍ଠ ସହଯୋଗୀ ଏବଂ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗୀକୃତ ଅନୁଗାମୀ ଥିଲେ। ୧୯୭୧ ମସିହାରୁ, ସେ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ସାମାଜିକ ଏବଂ ରାଜନୈତିକ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନରେ ସକ୍ରିୟ ଭୂମିକା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲେ।ସେ ଅବିଭକ୍ତ ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳରେ ଥିବା ସମସ୍ତ ଟ୍ରେଡ୍ ୟୁନିଅନର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠାତା ସଭାପତି ଭାବରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କରିଥିଲେ, ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ଜୀବନକାଳ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେ ଅବିଭକ୍ତ ଢେଙ୍କାନାଳର ସମସ୍ତ ଶିଳ୍ପ ଏବଂ ବ୍ୟବସାୟିକ ସଂଘର ପ୍ରତିଷ୍ଠାତା ସଦସ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ଥିଲେ। ଏହି ଭୂମିକା ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ସେ ନିରନ୍ତର ଭାବରେ ଶ୍ରମିକ, ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନ, ଏବଂ ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଠିଆ ହୋଇଥିଲେ।

ମୋ ମାଆ ଜଣେ ଗୃହିଣୀ ଥିଲେ, ସେ ଶୃଙ୍ଖଳା ଓ ସାଧୁତାର ପ୍ରତୀକ ଥିଲେ। ସେ ମୋତେ ଶିଖାଇଥିଲେ, ଏକ ପୁରୁଷ ଚରିତ୍ରର ମୂଳଦୁଆ ସହାନୁଭୂତି, ଦୟା ଏବଂ କରୁଣାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୁଏ । ସେ ଆମ ପରିବାରର ମେରୁଦଣ୍ଡ ଥିଲେ। ମୋ ପିତାମାତାଙ୍କ ମାର୍ଗଦର୍ଶନରେ ବଢ଼ିବା ପରେ, ମୁଁ ଶିଖିଲି ଯେ ସେବା, ସହାନୁଭୂତି ଏବଂ ସଚ୍ଚୋଟତା ବିକଳ୍ପ ନୁହେଁ ବରଂ ଦାୟିତ୍ୱ। ତାଙ୍କର ଅପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ସ୍ୱପ୍ନ, ପ୍ରଗତିଶୀଳ ଏବଂ ସ୍ୱାବଲମ୍ବୀ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ପାଇଁ ବିଜୁ ବାବୁଙ୍କ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିକୋଣକୁ ଆଗକୁ ବଢ଼ାଇବା ମୋର ପ୍ରୟାସକୁ ପ୍ରେରଣା ଦେଇ ଚାଲିଛି।

ରୋଟାରିଆନ୍ ଶ୍ରୀମତୀ କଲ୍ୟାଣୀ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକଙ୍କୁ ବିବାହ କରି ମୁଁ ବହୁତ ଭାଗ୍ୟବାନ ଅନୁଭବ କରେ। ସେ ଜଣେ ପଲ ହାରିସ୍ ଫେଲୋ  ଏବଂ ଫେଲୋସିପ୍ ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱର ରୋଟାରୀ ସର୍କଲ୍ସ ସହିତ ସକ୍ରିୟ ଭାବରେ ଜଡିତ ଅଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ତାଙ୍କର ଦକ୍ଷତା ଏବଂ ସହଯୋଗର ସହିତ ଅନେକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ଶିବିର ଏବଂ ସାମାଜିକ ସେବା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ଆୟୋଜନ କରିବାରେ ମୋତେ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତି।ସେ ସର୍ବଦା ପରିବାର ଏବଂ ରୋଟାରୀ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ଉତ୍ତମ ସନ୍ତୁଳନ ବଜାୟ ରଖନ୍ତି। ସେ ଆମର ସମସ୍ତ ବ୍ୟବସାୟିକ ପ୍ରୟାସର ନେତୃତ୍ୱ ନିୟନ୍ତି। ସବୁ ସମସ୍ୟାର ସମାଧାନ କରିବାର ଦକ୍ଷତା ତାଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଅଛି।ତାଙ୍କର ମୂଲ୍ୟବୋଧ, ଶୃଙ୍ଖଳା ଏବଂ ଶାନ୍ତ ସ୍ୱଭାବ ମୋତେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ପ୍ରେରଣା ଦିଏ।ସେ ମୋ ଜୀବନର ପ୍ରତିଟି ପଦକ୍ଷେପରେ ମୋତେ ସହଯୋଗ କରନ୍ତି  ଓ ମୁଁ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପାଇ ନିଜକୁ ଧନ୍ୟ ମାନେ କରୁଛି।
